Sakura

Sakura was always a symbol of ephemeral beauty in Japan and is associated with samurais and bushis. Life was considered as beautiful as short ,like a sakura flower.
During the Second World War ,the Sakura was a symbol used to motivate the japanese people. Japanese pilots painted sakura flowers on the sides of their planes before going on kamikaze missions, as a symbol of beauty and ephemeral nature. The government encouraged the japanese to believe that the soldiers killed in battle reborned in the form of cherry flowers. Today, soldiers and police officers are still using these flowers as emblems, flags and badges instead of the classical stars .
